Off the Hook - Hats for Eben

It is so fun to make things for my own little boy!  I recently made him two hats for the summer.  I really wanted to make him a driver-style cap, but had such a hard time finding a pattern that worked well.  The third pattern I tried was the Seamus Scally Cap, and I finally had success!

I wanted to use a tweed yarn, for more visual interest.  I also wanted cotton for the summer, and found Tatamy Tweed Worsted.  After picking the yarn, I realized it matched his Easter outfit perfectly.

I also made Eben a newsboy-style hat, the Chappy Newsboy Cap.  Made from my favourite cotton yarn, I Love This Cotton.  Nice and light for spring and summer, with a brim to keep the sun out of his eyes.

My dad made the wooden buttons for me, they were the perfect finishing touch.

Now, if I could only get Eben to stop pulling off his hats!
